Installing Siebel Monthly Update in a Siebel CRM Environment Deployed on OpenShift with Security Hardening Using SCM

This topic describes the procedure to install the latest monthly update in a Siebel CRM environment deployed on OpenShift with security hardening using SCM.

Note: These steps do not include repository upgrade steps. Repository upgrade steps are optional and are the same as the steps used for on-premises Siebel CRM deployments.

Starting with version 26.6, SCM and Siebel support custom user ID and group ID for pods. You can optionally use custom user ID and group ID to enhance the security posture of deployed environments by enabling SCM and Siebel CRM workloads to run with user and group IDs that comply with the security policies of the target Kubernetes cluster.

To install a Siebel monthly update with enhanced security for SCM and Siebel CRM workloads:
  1. Complete the prerequisites for updating to version 26.6 before installing the monthly update. For more information, see Prerequisites for Updating to Version 26.6.

  2. Apply the monthly update. For detailed steps to install a Siebel monthly update, see Installing Siebel Monthly Updates in a Siebel CRM Environment Deployed by SCM.
  3. (Optional) Execute the post-update security hardening steps after the environment is updated to version 26.6 or later. For more information, see Post-Update Security Hardening.
