Using the Airplane Icon on the Application Banner

The airplane icon on the application banner indicates whether the mobile application can connect to and sync data with the Siebel Server.

If the app can connect to and sync data with the Siebel Server, then the application connects to the Siebel Server is in online mode. If the app can't connect to and sync data with the Siebel Server, then the application disconnects from the Siebel Server and is in offline mode.

The airplane icon, shown in the following table, indicates the state of the connection (online or offline) for the mobile app.

Go offline icon

Go Offline (solid airplane icon)

Indicates a connected or online state, where syncing (data upload and download) between the mobile app and the Siebel Server takes place automatically.


Go online icon

Go Online (empty airplane icon)

Indicates a disconnected or offline state, where syncing (data upload and download) between the mobile app and the Siebel Server doesn't take place automatically. In this case, you need to manually upload or sync data between the mobile app and the Siebel Server by selecting Go Online (the empty airplane icon), and then selecting a reconnection option. Use the Airplane Icon

  • Select Go Offline (the solid airplane icon) on the application banner to go offline and work in disconnected mode. For more information, see these topics:
  • Select Go Online (the empty airplane icon) on the application banner, and then select one of these options:
    • Upload and Go Online. Select this option to trigger a data upload and go online.
    • Sync and stay Offline. Select this option to sync data but remain in offline mode.
    • Upload Only and Stay Offline. Select to trigger a data upload only but remain in offline mode. For more information, see Syncing Data.
