Overview of the Siebel Segmentation Migration Utility

The Siebel Segmentation Migration Utility migrates Siebel Marketing segmentation artifacts to analysis-based artifacts in Oracle Analytics Server (OAS). Then, it updates Siebel Marketing campaign references to use the migrated artifacts.

Note: The Siebel Segmentation Migration Utility is separate from the existing Siebel Migration application. The utility delivered for this specific segmentation migration is named mktg-seg-migration and it's used specifically for Siebel Marketing segmentation migration.

The segmentation migration utility:

• Converts Segments to Analysis Artifacts.
• Converts Segment Trees to Analysis Collections.
• Converts List Export artifacts to Analysis Export artifacts when they're associated with migrated campaigns.
• Discovers eligible Siebel Marketing campaigns and their associated segmentation artifacts through Siebel REST APIs.
• Creates migrated OAS catalog artifacts by using the M_ naming convention and links the generated analysis-based artifacts back to Siebel Marketing campaigns.
• Supports scoped migration through siebel.campaign.searchspec. If no search specification is provided, the application evaluates all eligible campaigns returned by Siebel.
• Provides application logs, audit logs, per-campaign status, and a command-line run summary for validation and troubleshooting.
