Preparing Siebel Tools for Custom ODBC Data Source Names for All Databases

If you create a custom ODBC data source name instead of using the default ODBC data source name, then you must perform the following modifications before running the incremental repository merge:

This task is a step in Process of Meeting Requirements for an Incremental Repository Merge.

  1. Navigate to the $SIEBEL_HOME\bin\<primary_lang_code> directory, where <primary_lang_code> is the language code for the primary language, and open siebdevcli.cfg.

  2. In the [Siebel] section of the .cfg file, do the following:

    1. Change the ServerDbODBCDataSource parameter from the default value to your custom ODBC name.

    2. (For Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 only) In the [ServerDataSrc] section, change the Connect String parameter from the default value to your custom ODBC name.
