Enhanced Smartphone UX for Siebel Mobile

Siebel Mobile applications feature the Smartphone UX PHONE theme for iOS and Android™ operating system devices. The Smartphone UX PHONE theme is visually and functionally aligned with Redwood desktop employee-facing and partner applications. It transforms list applets into Tile visualization mode with infinite scrolling, and it defaults navigation to Side Menu mode.

The enhanced UX employs specialized, ready-to-use context renderers to optimize mobile application layouts on client devices – thus ensuring optimal use of available real estate. The Smartphone UX PHONE theme supports the Redwood theme by default, and it's available in portrait mode only.

You enable the Smartphone UX for mobile applications by setting the AutoTileType component parameter to PHONE, for example, as follows: 

// change param AutoTileType=PHONE for comp <application_object_manager>_<language>
change param AutoTileType=PHONE for comp ServiceMObjMgr_Enu

After you change the AutoTileType component parameter – for the changes to take effect on smartphones – you need to restart the component. Changing the AutoTileType component parameter doesn't change the look and feel of the application on desktop or tablet devices.

Important: The URL must not be used for same user across tab and phone devices; otherwise, you'll experience look-and-feel issues.

The Smartphone UX PHONE theme includes these elements across all views:

  • Application banner. The application banner appears across the start of each page in the smartphone theme. It contains these options: Side Menu, Search, and Settings.

  • Accordion panel. The accordion displays contextual information according to the selection that you make from the Side Menu. The information is displayed in accordion format. You expand (or close) each applet in the accordion panel to view more (or less) information on your smartphone.

  • Footer banner. The footer banner displays the detail view navigation options according to the selection that you make from the Side Menu.

Note: Redwood is the default Smartphone UX PHONE theme for Siebel mobile applications.

Enhanced Smartphone UX PHONE Theme Updates in Release 26.8

In Siebel Release 26.8, the Smartphone UX PHONE theme for Siebel mobile applications is enhanced with these updates:

  • Restyled application banner, accordion panel, and footer banner. A simplified application header with fewer elements and a redesigned accordion panel

  • New Styles, Colors, Icons, and Fonts. Updated to align with Oracle's new portfolio-wide color schemes, including a refined palette and restyled date picker, calculator, currency control, and list of values

  • Refreshed styling for Applets, and views. Improved spacing between fields, buttons, and other interface elements, with restyled list and form applets

  • Siebel Mobile application for Siebel Field Service

  • Siebel Mobile application for Siebel Financial Services
