G.5 Verifying the Disk Configuration

Before you can reinstall the Oracle Big Data Appliance software on the server, you must verify that the configuration is correct on the new disk drive.

To verify the disk configuration:

  1. Check the software configuration:

    # bdachecksw

  2. If there are errors, then redo the configuration steps as necessary to correct the problem.

  3. Check the /root directory for a file named BDA_REBOOT_SUCCEEDED.

  4. If you find a file named BDA_REBOOT_FAILED, then read the file to identify and fix any additional problems.

  5. Use this script to generate a BDA_REBOOT_SUCCEEDED file:

    # /opt/oracle/bda/lib/bdastartup.sh

  6. Verify that BDA_REBOOT_SUCCEEDED exists. If you still find a BDA_REBOOT_FAILED file, then redo the previous steps.
