1.1 Differences Between Big Data Manager 2.0 and 1.0

Both Big Data Manager 2.0 and 1.0 are included in Big Data Appliance 5.2

Important:

Big Data Manager 2.0 is installed on new clusters only. Clusters upgraded from an earlier Big Data Appliance release to release 5.2 retain Big Data Manager 1.0. When you move between new and upgraded clusters you will see some differences in the way Big Data Manager 2.0 and 1.0 look and the features that are available.

Big Data Manager 2.0 on new clusters does not include the following features. These features are available in Big Data Manager 1.0 on upgraded clusters.

  • Big Data Manager Notebook

    Runs Apache Zeppelin Notebook

  • Big Data Manager Proxy

    Provides a reverse proxy to route requests from the web client to the Big Data Manager and Big Data Manager Notebook

  • Pipelines

    A feature that lets you chain Big Data Manager jobs together into pipelines that define a specific workflow.
