Restart an Application VM

This topic provides the details and procedure to restart an Application VM.

Before you begin, review the following:

• Restarting the Application VM attempts to restart the VM gracefully. If the graceful restart fails, the Application VM is powered off.

• If applications running on an Application VM do not shut down gracefully, restarting the Application VM can terminate them unexpectedly and result in data loss or corruption. To avoid this, manually shut down the applications before restarting the Application VM from the Console.

Procedure

Perform the following steps in the Console.

1. On the Data Infrastructures list page, select the Data Infrastructure that you want to work with. If you need help finding the list page or the Data Infrastructure, see List Data Infrastructures.

2. On the Data Infrastructure details page, select the Application VMs tab to view the list of all Application VMs.

3. On the Application VMs tab, select the Application VM that you want to work with.

4. On the Application VM details page, select Restart.

5. In the Restart Application VM dialog, select Restart to confirm.
