Deployment Checklists
Use these checklists to confirm readiness for an Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer deployment.
System Components Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm that system component planning is complete.
- How many Data Infrastructure resources will be installed?
- For each Data Infrastructure resource, has rack space been allocated for the delivered hardware?
- Confirm that each Data Infrastructure resource has 8 rack units (RU) available for two servers and one storage shelf.
- Will any customer equipment share the same rack?
- If additional equipment is installed in the same rack, confirm that power, cooling, airflow, cable routing, and service access remain adequate.
Data Center Room Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm that the target data center location is ready.
- Has the customer-provided rack location been assigned and made available?
- Is 8 RU of contiguous rack space available for the Data Infrastructure?
- Does the rack layout provide required front and rear service clearance?
- Will exhaust airflow from nearby systems be prevented from entering the air intake of this equipment?
- Are rack stabilization and anchoring requirements addressed?
- If raised flooring is used, does it support the rack and installed hardware load?
- Are floor tile removal, cable access, and under-floor service procedures approved where required?
- Are any non-standard cable lengths needed?
Data Center Environment Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm that environmental requirements can be met.
- Can the room maintain the required temperature and humidity ranges for the installed hardware?
- Does the rack location provide adequate front-to-back airflow?
- Are there enough perforated tiles or other cooling provisions for the planned equipment position?
- Can the data center prevent hot spots around the installed 8 RU hardware set?
- Can environmental conditions be maintained continuously during standard operation?
Access Route Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm that delivery and movement paths are ready for component delivery.
- Has the access route been checked for the packaged and unpackaged servers and storage shelf?
- Are doors, corridors, ramps, thresholds, elevators, and turns suitable for moving the delivered components?
- Are surfaces suitable for carts, dollies, pallet jacks, or other handling equipment?
- If stairs or ramps are present, is suitable handling equipment or a service elevator available?
- Can the route support the weight of the delivered equipment and handling devices?
- Is the route to the rack location clear during the planned installation window?
Facility Power Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm power readiness.
- Have voltage, current, plug, receptacle, and circuit requirements been reviewed for Data Infrastructure?
- Are enough power outlets or PDU ports available at the target rack?
- Are redundant A/B power paths available where required?
- Are circuits sized for the full deployed load?
- Can one power path support the required load if the other path is unavailable, where applicable?
- Is UPS-backed power available if required by the deployment design?
- Are grounding requirements for the rack and installed components satisfied?
Safety Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm safety readiness.
- Is emergency power shutoff available according to site policy?
- Is fire detection and suppression available in the data center?
- Is appropriate fire-extinguishing equipment available?
- Is antistatic flooring or equivalent static-control protection in place?
- Is the area around and below the rack free of obstructions?
Logistics Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm delivery and installation logistics.
- Are data center contacts and escalation contacts identified?
- Are security access, background checks, visitor approvals, and escort requirements documented?
- Are laptops, phones, cameras, and tools permitted for installation personnel?
- Is a delivery dock, receiving area, unpacking area, and staging area available?
- Is inside delivery to the final rack location planned?
- Is the unpacking area protected from weather and thermal shock?
- Will sufficient personnel and lifting equipment be available to install the two servers and one storage shelf?
- Are there restrictions on delivery vehicle size or dock access times?
- Can packaging material be removed from the site according to data center rules?
- Is storage available for spares or accessories, if provided?
Network Configuration Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm network readiness.
- Are required network cables routed to the rack location?
- Are cables labeled for the Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer deployment?
- Are the Control Plane Proxy Services VMs, client, and backup network connections prepared according to the deployment design?
- Are customer switches configured with the required ports, VLANs, speeds, routing, and firewall rules?
- Are cable lengths and transceiver types compatible with the target rack and network equipment?
Customer Rack Readiness Checklist
Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer does not ship as a full rack. The customer must provide suitable rack space for the delivered components.
- Is the target rack available and ready before installation?
- Is 8 RU of contiguous space reserved for two servers and one storage shelf?
- Is the rack a four-post rack suitable for enterprise server and storage installation?
- Does the rack support the required rails, mounting depth, cable management arms, and service access?
- Does the rack have sufficient load capacity for the installed hardware?
- Are front and rear clearances adequate for airflow, cabling, and maintenance?
- Are blanking panels available to preserve airflow around the installed equipment?
- Are PDUs, power cords, and cable paths ready before Oracle installation personnel arrive?
- Are rack photos available for pre-installation validation if requested?
- Is nearby customer equipment positioned so it does not block airflow, cabling, or service access?
