Site Requirements

This topic describes the site requirements for delivery, installation, and operation of Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer.

The system is designed for rack installation and includes two servers and one storage shelf, with the option to add a second storage shelf for expansion in the future.

Space requirements

Plan rack space based on the physical dimensions of each component.

Component Height Width Depth
Server (each) 86.9 mm (3.4 in.) 445.0 mm (17.5 in.) 775.0 mm (30.5 in.)
Storage shelf (each) 175 mm (6.9 in.) 483 mm (19.0 in.) 630 mm (24.8 in.)

The following are the supported configurations.

Scenario Included Components
Base system Two servers + one storage shelf
Expanded system Two servers + one storage shelf + optional second storage shelf

Weight requirements

Use these weights for rack-loading and handling planning.

Component Weight
Server (each) 23.8 kg (52.5 lb.)
Storage shelf (each) 38 kg (84 lb.)

Installation materials

Ensure your site has an appropriate receiving area and a clear path to move equipment to the installation location.

Item Included
Tool-less rack mounting slide rail kit Yes
Cable management arm Yes

Electrical power requirements

Provide redundant AC power suitable for the system’s redundant power supplies.

Component Power supplies Voltage Input current Frequency
Server (each) Two 1400W, hot-swappable, redundant 200 to 240 VAC (nominal) 10.0A at 200–240 VAC (maximum) 50/60 Hz (47–63 Hz range)
Storage shelf (each) Two 580W, hot-swappable, redundant 100 to 240 VAC (rated line voltage) 8A at 100 VAC and 3A at 240 VAC (rated) -

Power consumption

Use the following values to size power for your chosen configuration.

Component / Configuration Power (Typical) Power (Maximum)
Two-server high availability configuration (max memory) 1534W 2394W
Storage shelf (24 × 7.68 TB SSDs) 276W 449W

Heat output

Use the following values to size cooling for your chosen configuration.

Component / Configuration Heat Output (Typical) Heat Output (Maximum)
Two-server high availability configuration (max memory) 5235 BTU/hr 8168 BTU/hr
Storage shelf (24 × 7.68 TB SSDs) 940 BTU/hr 1529 BTU/hr

Environment requirements

Maintain the environment (temperature, humidity and altitude) within these limits for reliable operation.

Condition Operating Requirement Non-operating Requirement Optimal Requirement
Temperature 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F) -40°C to 68°C (-40°F to 154°F) 21°C to 23°C (69.8°F to 73.4°F)
Relative Humidity 10% to 90%, noncondensing Up to 93%, noncondensing -
Altitude Up to 3000 meters (9840 feet) Up to 12000 meters (39370 feet) Higher than 900 meters, reduce maximum ambient operating temperature by 1°C per 300 meters, up to 3000 meters.

In China markets, regulations might limit installations to a maximum altitude of 2,000 meters (6,562 feet).

Ventilation and airflow

Ensure your facility can remove the heat output listed earlier (BTU/hr). Cooling capacity should be planned based on:

Plan cooling using the heat-output values and your data center standards.

Acoustic noise

Check and comply with any local workplace noise exposure regulations and any site-specific requirements for hearing protection.

Metric Value Notes
Acoustic noise (sound power) 8.5 Bels At 50% fan speed
