Edit a VM Network

This topic provides the details and procedure to edit details of a VM Network.

Before you begin, review the following:

Procedure

Perform the following steps in the Console.

  1. On the Data Infrastructures list page, select the Data Infrastructure that you want to work with. If you need help finding the list page or the Data Infrastructure, see List Data Infrastructures.

  2. On the Data Infrastructure details page, select the VM Networks tab to view the list of all VM Networks.

  3. On the VM Networks tab, select the VM Network that you want to work with.

  4. On the VM Network details page, select Edit.

  5. In the Edit VM Network panel, update the following details as needed:

    • Name: Enter a name for the VM Network.

    • Create in compartment: Select the compartment that contains the VM Network.

    • Client network:

      • VLAN ID: Enter the VLAN ID for the client network between 1 and 4094, inclusive. To specify no VLAN tagging, enter 1, this is equivalent to a NULL VLAN ID tag value. The values 0 and 4095 are reserved, and cannot be entered.

      • Netmask: Enter the netmask for the client network.

      • Gateway: Enter the IP address of the client network gateway.

      • Domain name: Enter the domain name for the client network.

      • VM1 hostname: Enter the host name of the first VM.

      • VM1 IP address: Enter the IP address of the first VM.

      • VM1 VIP name: Enter the virtual IP host name of the first VM.

      • VM1 VIP address: Enter the virtual IP address of the first VM.

      • VM2 hostname: Enter the host name of the second VM.

      • VM2 IP address: Enter the IP address of the second VM.

      • VM2 VIP name: Enter the virtual IP host name of the second VM.

      • VM2 VIP address: Enter the virtual IP address of the second VM.

      • SCAN name: Enter the Single Client Access Name (SCAN).

      • SCAN IP address 1: Enter the first SCAN IP address.

      • SCAN IP address 2: Enter the second SCAN IP address.

    • Backup network:

      • VLAN ID: Enter the VLAN ID for the backup network between 1 and 4094, inclusive. To specify no VLAN tagging, enter 1, this is equivalent to a NULL VLAN ID tag value. The values 0 and 4095 are reserved, and cannot be entered.

      • Netmask: Enter the netmask for the backup network.

      • Gateway: Enter the IP address of the backup network gateway.

      • Domain name: Enter the domain name for the backup network.

      • VM1 hostname: Enter the backup network host name of the first VM.

      • VM1 IP address: Enter the backup network IP address of the first VM.

      • VM2 hostname: Enter the backup network host name of the second VM.

      • VM2 IP address: Enter the backup network IP address of the second VM.

    • DNS servers: Enter the IP address of a DNS server that is accessible from the client network. You may enter up to three DNS servers.

      • Select + Another DNS Server to add more servers.
    • NTP servers: Enter the IP address of an NTP server that is accessible from the client network. You may enter up to three NTP servers.

      • Select + Another NTP Server to add more servers.
    • Advanced options:

      • Network:

        • SCAN listener port (TCP/IP): Enter the TCP/IP port for the SCAN listener in the range between 1024 and 8999. Default is 1521.

        • SCAN SSL listener port (TCP/IP): Enter the TCP/IP port for the SCAN SSL listener in the range between 1024 and 8999. Default is 2484.

  6. Select Save.
