Validate a VM Network

This topic provides the details and procedure to validate VM Network details.

Before you begin, review the following:

• Validation performs a series of automated checks on the VM Network.
• The Validate button is enabled only when the VM Network requires validation.

Procedure

Perform the following steps in the Console.

1. On the Data Infrastructures list page, select the Data Infrastructure that you want to work with. If you need help finding the list page or the Data Infrastructure, see List Data Infrastructures.

2. On the Data Infrastructure details page, select the VM Networks tab to view the list of all VM Networks.

3. On the VM Networks tab, select the VM Network that you want to work with.

4. On the VM Network details page, select Validate.

5. In the Validate VM Network dialog, select Validate to start the validation process.

After successful validation, the VM Network state changes to Validated, and the VM Network is ready to be used to create other resources.

If validation fails, review the error message, resolve the issue, and then repeat the validation.

If validation fails, a banner with the Download Report button is displayed. Download the report, update the network resource assignments as needed, and then validate the network again.
