Quickstarts
Most customers starting with cloud wish to start small - with a pilot project or a trial implementation of a low-criticality system, and this is a great approach, one that we as Oracle are keen to support.
We have built an extensive set of “Quickstarts” that are designed to get you up and running with OCI in the shortest time possible. These are entirely self-contained and easy to deploy and remove as many times as you like - they have very few dependencies. These are great for small-scale trials with OCI.

Regulation and Compliance
Regulation and compliance in the public cloud is an extremely challenging topic. Perhaps the key point in any cloud onboarding is to get the right people people involved at the right time. If you are planning on any production systems moving to public cloud, then the right time to get your regulatory, compliance and, in fact, security teams involved is as early as possible. Whilst technical migrations can often be achieved very quickly - especially with modern automation - achieving all the various sign-offs required from both internal and external authorities can be very time consuming indeed.
In this framework, we have included a complete guide to the onboarding process, however, this can only ever be a fairly general guide. Across industries and geographies, there is a very large variety of regulation, and even where the regulations are the same, different organizations will often interpret the regulations differently, and some organizations will have some very specific requirements.
