Oracle Cloud Foundation
The Oracle Cloud Foundation provides the essentials needed to establish a secure foothold in the public cloud. It combines a broad application modernization strategy with specific cloud best-practice architecture to deliver an infrastructure-as-code framework for a fast and scalable cloud deployment.
The Cloud Foundation complements existing Oracle documentation and links to more detailed documentation and reference architectures where relevant.
Throughout the Cloud Foundation, we focus on good architecture practice. Much of the guidance and advice is not specific to Oracle and applies to any cloud vendor. However, where we drop into deployment specifics we will use Oracle-based examples.
The Cloud Foundation divides into three distinct parts :
-
Cloud Strategy looks at the broad view of a cloud strategy in the context of an application modernization strategy
-
Cloud Architecture looks in more detail at high-level cloud architecture and links this through to real-life deployment architecture best practice
-
Infrastructure as Code covers best practices for standardization and automation through infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
