This 10-minute tutorial shows you how to extend your subscription so you can access services that are not in your default data center.

Background

The newest releases of cloud services from Oracle, including Oracle Integration and Oracle Analytics Cloud, automate and eliminate key tasks to lower cost, reduce risk, and accelerate innovation. These services are now available in select Oracle Cloud data centers. If you were assigned a default data region when you signed up for Oracle Cloud, then use this tutorial to extend your subscription to a data region where these additional services are available. This tutorial uses Oracle Analytics Cloud.

What Do You Need?

  • An Oracle Cloud account with provisioned services
  • The Cloud Account Administrator role (If you’re the buyer who signed up for Oracle Cloud, then you already have this role.)


section 1Find the Data Regions that Offer Additional Cloud Services

  1. Navigate to the Oracle Cloud Data Regions page at https://cloud.oracle.com/data-regions.
  2. In the All Oracle IaaS and PaaS Services table, find Oracle Analytics Cloud.

  3. Identify what data regions offer the additional service that you want to use. For example, the North America region offers Oracle Analytics Cloud.
  4. Make a note of the data region.

section 2Extend Your Subscription to the Selected Data Region

  1. Navigate to the My Services dashboard.
  2. Click the Account Management tile in the dashboard.

  4. Click the Account Management tab.
  5. Locate the IaaS/PaaS service category.
  6. From the Action menu, select Manage Data Regions.

  8. Select an additional data region that offers Oracle Analytics Cloud, and click OK. For example, select the North America region.
  9. Oracle sends you an email with the credentials and URL for signing in to the new data region.


section 3Sign In to the New Data Region

  1. Open the email and note the sign-in credentials for the new data region.
  2. Welcome Email

  3. Click Get Started with Oracle Cloud, and sign in to the new data region.
  4. You can now access Oracle Analytics Cloud as well as other services available in this region.
