Description of the illustration migrate_vms_block_storage_architecture

This architecture diagram shows the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute Classic source environment that you want to migrate and the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure target environment after migrating VMs and block storage.

In this diagram, the source environment consists of a Linux VM with a single block volume attached; another Linux VM with two block volumes attached; and a Windows VM with a single block volume attached. The migration controller instance, Control-S is created in the source environment with a block volume attached.

The migration controller instance, Control-T is created in the target environment with a block volume attached. Using SSH access and API calls to the source and target environment, the VMs and block volumes are copied from the source to the target environment. After migration is completed, the target environment contains the Windows and Linux VMs with the appropriate storage volumes attached.
