Deleting and Re-creating Instances

After creating instances in Compute Classic by using an orchestration, you can delete and re-create the instances at any time by stopping and starting the orchestration that defines the instances.

Caution:

When you stop an orchestration, all the objects defined in it, such as instances, storage volumes, security lists are deleted. Note that any objects that are created outside the orchestration and merely associated with the instances in the orchestration being deleted remain intact when you stop the orchestration.
Task REST API Call
1. Stop the orchestration. PUT /orchestration/{name}?action=STOP
2. Monitor the status of the orchestration. GET /orchestration/{name}

After all the objects defined in the orchestration are deleted, the status of the orchestration changes to stopped.

3. Start the orchestration. PUT /orchestration/{name}?action=START
4. Monitor the status of the orchestration. GET /orchestration/{name}

After all the objects defined in the orchestration are created, the status of the orchestration changes to ready.
