Dependency Mapping

Dependency mapping ensures that systems are restored in the right order so that each component has the prerequisite services, data sources, and infrastructure needed to function correctly.

Full Stack DR automatically identifies the relationships and inter-dependencies between the OCI resources that are members of the primary and standby DR Protection Groups to determine the correct sequence of steps during a recovery. Full Stack DR uses this analysis to quickly generate DR drill, failover, and switchover plans with steps grouped by resource dependencies.

The default order of operations is precisely tuned to be the exact sequence needed to recover the OCI infrastructure and platform resources that are members of the DR protection groups. Do not change the default order of operation without thorough evaluation.

You can further customize these groupings to create finer-grained dependencies that match your specific business system requirements by using the Reorder groups and steps feature of Full Stack Disaster Recovery. The Reorder groups and steps feature allows you to change the order of plan groups and it also allows you to move individual plan steps between plan groups.
