About Oracle Analytics AI Assistant Features

Oracle Analytics AI Assistant has multiple features that can be powered by Oracle Analytics default generative AI or a supported third-party generative AI.

Oracle Analytics AI Assistant has three main features that use a generative AI service that you select as part of configuration. These features are the AI Assistant in workbooks, generating meaningful catalog descriptions, and natural language narratives.

Select Disabled for the generative AI service for a feature to disable that feature.

Note:

It may take up to 10 minutes for features to be removed as an option after you disable them.

For more information on how to configure a feature to use a specific generative AI service, see Configure Which Generative AI to Use with AI-Supporting Features.

Oracle Analytics AI Assistant

Oracle Analytics AI Assistant provides natural language responses and visualizations in response to natural language inputs. The generative AI you select for this feature is used for the Assistant in workbooks, subject areas, and home page search. For more information, see About Oracle Analytics AI Assistant.

Catalog Descriptions

Catalog descriptions allow you to ask the generative AI to create meaningful metadata for your datasets based on the indexed content. The generative AI you select for this feature is used when clicking the wand icon next the description field when inspecting your dataset. For more information, see Add Metadata for a Dataset Using AI.

Language Narrative Visualization

The Language Narrative visualization creates natural language descriptions of the attributes and measures in your dataset. The descriptions provide insights into your company's data in the form of breakdown or trend. With generative AI you can select additional tones that change the wording of the description to suit different audiences. If generative AI is disabled for this feature, you can only select the Factual tone. For more information, see Add a Language Narrative Visualization.
