Set Up Resource Groups for Multiple Semantic Models

If you plan to deploy multiple semantic models in Oracle Analytics Cloud, you can allocate additional OCPU resources to specific models. This allows specific semantic models to consume compute capacity independently to support query processing and user workloads. You manage OCPU allocation using resource groups, which allow you to assign dedicated OCPUs to specific semantic models. Administrators can add or remove resource groups at any time through the OCI Console, giving you flexibility to scale resources based on demand.

Note:

Each Oracle Analytics Cloud instance includes a built-in default resource group for single-semantic model deployments. For many organizations, this default resource group is sufficient, so additional resource groups aren't necessary. You can't modify or delete the default resource group.

Deploying multiple semantic models can be beneficial in several scenarios. For example, you might want to reuse and leverage an existing semantic model from another Oracle Analytics environment, isolate workloads across departments (such as finance and sales), or optimize performance for different user groups. Multiple models can also help you manage complex data domains more effectively, improve governance by limiting access to specific datasets, and reduce contention by distributing queries across dedicated resources.
