Export a Visualization
You can export visualizations in a variety of formats to view, store, and share with others.
You can export data from a visualization that's embedded in another application or web page. See About Embedding Oracle Analytics Content into Applications and Web Pages.
You can specify the following output options when you export a visualization:
- For Powerpoint (pptx),
Acrobat (pdf), and
Image (png) — Specify the
file name, paper size, and orientation.
When you share any of these visual formats, the visualization is re-rendered based on the size and orientation you select. So if you're sharing a table, then your output file might not contain all of the table's rows and columns displayed in your visualization.
- For Data (csv) — Specify the output file name. This option only includes the data used in the workbook. The output file uses the data delimiter for your computer's locale. For example, if your locale is set to Brazil, then the delimiter for numeric decimals is a comma instead of a period, which is used when your locale is set to United States.
- For Excel (xlsx) — Specify the file name for tables and pivots.
- For Package (dva) — Specify whether to include workbook data, connection credentials, and access permissions. To enable users to open the workbook DVA file without having to enter a password, click Include Connection Credentials and specify the password.
- On the Home page, hover over a workbook containing the visualization that you want to export, click Actions, and select Open.
- Click Edit to display the workbook for editing.
- Go to the Visualize canvas and click the visualization that you want to export.
- In the visualization, click Menu, hover over Export, and then click File.
- In the Format field, select the output format you want and specify the output options.
- Click Save.
Tips on Exporting Data in CSV Format
Here're some tips on getting the best results when exporting a visualization in CSV format.
Limit the amount of data to avoid export issues:
If your data exceeds the maximum number of rows allowed in an export (which includes displayed rows and hidden rows), apply filters to data in a canvas or visualization to reduce the amount of data being exported. For example, you might apply a filter to a visualiztion to display only data for the months January, February, and March to reduce the amount of data.
If export exceeds five minutes you might see errors such as "connection lost contact", "end-of-file on communication channel", "0 - error", or "error 500".
