This image shows the Permissions dialog. Here you can manage accounts and assign permissions to a catalog object.
The top portion of Permissions dialog displays the folder in which the object resides and the account name of the object owner. For example, in the image the account name of the object owner is System Account.
Accounts — The accounts that have access to the object. For example, in the image several accounts have access to the object, such as BI Consumer and BI Content Author.
Permissions — The type of access rights the account has to the object. Options include Full Control, Modify, Open, Custom, and No Access.
Owner — If selected, indicates that the account is the owner the object.
Apply effective permissions — Use this button to assign permissions based on the user's membership in a group. For example, if a user belongs to the Marketing group account which has full control permissions to a Corporate Sales scorecard directory, then the user also has full control to the directory.
Replace with parent's folder permissions — Use this button to inherit the permissions defined for the highest folder in the directory hierarchy.
Set parents folders permission to "Traverse Folder" — Use this button skip over any folders to which the permissions should not be applied.
Add users/roles — Use this button to select the accounts you want to to add.
Apply permissions for selected users/roles — Displays the permissions menu. Use this menu to select a permission to assign to the selected account or accounts. To select multiple accounts, hold down the Control key and then click the accounts that you want.
Delete selected users/roles — Use this button to delete the selected accounts.
