Share a Workbook URL with Persisted Filter Values

Create and share a workbook URL that persists selected filter values in a workbook.

When you share the URL with other users, they can use it to view the workbook with your filter values already applied instead of selecting the values themselves.

All dashboard filter and visualization filter selections are persisted, including parameters used as dashboard filter controls and parameters bound to dashboard or visualization filters. Filter selections made in the filter bar aren't persisted.

You can also specify which canvas displays when the user clicks the URL to open the workbook. See Share a Workbook URL with a Specific Canvas Selected.

1. On the Home page, hover over a workbook, click Actions, then select Open.
2. Select the filter values you want to persist when you create the URL.
3. Click the Export icon in the workbook toolbar.
4. From the Apply state list, select a state.
   • Use Original state to persist the filter values that were selected when you opened the workbook, before you made any new selections.
   • Use Current state to persist the filter values that are currently selected.

5. Click Copy Link and share the URL with other users.
