What Are Contextual Insights?
When you look at visualizations in a workbook, you might want to analyze a specific data selection in a visualization to get more insights about the data within the context of your filters.
In Oracle Analytics, you can quickly access meaningful insights about specific data selections in any visualization using AI-driven contextual insights.
Contextual Insights compare selected data in a visualization with the rest of the visualization's data to identify attributes from your dataset that show the most important contrast between the two groups of data. Contextual Insights expose dimensional breakdowns, trending charts, and other visualizations. These insights help to highlight how differently your selection behaves compared to the rest of the data in the visualization, and can reveal high functional contrasts.
Oracle Analytics provides up to three insights at a time, but you can expand into additional insights. When you remove an insight, another one is provided, if available. You can also add these insights to a watchlist to easily refer to them later.
Oracle Analytics provides a description above each insight to help you understand them. This description is also available in the tooltip that displays when you hover over the auto-generated visualization, either in the dialog or in a watchlist.
