2 Before You Install the Recipe

You must perform the following configuration tasks on your Shopify and Oracle ERP Cloud instances in order to successfully connect to these external systems using Oracle Integration and import orders from Shopify to Oracle ERP Cloud.

Configure Shopify

To configure Shopify, see Prerequisites for Creating a Connection.

Configure Oracle ERP Cloud

To access the Oracle ERP Cloud instance from Oracle Integration, you'll require a separate user account on Oracle ERP Cloud. Also, create descriptive flexfields to store Shopify Order ID, Shopify Product ID and Shopify Product Variant ID.

Note:

To run this recipe, you must have set up tax regimes on your Oracle ERP Cloud instance according to your organization’s requirements. See Tax Regimes.

Log in to your Oracle ERP Cloud instance as an Administrator and perform the following tasks.

  1. Create a user account for Oracle Integration. Make a note of the user name and password you set for the account. You'll use the credentials of this user account to connect to Oracle ERP Cloud from Oracle Integration.
  2. Assign the following roles to the user account. For more information on these roles, see Assign Required Roles to an Integration User in Using the Oracle ERP Cloud Adapter with Oracle Integration 3.
    • Integration Specialist
    • Oracle ERP Cloud-specific data access to the integration user
  3. Create a descriptive flexfield to store Shopify Order ID.
    1. Log in to Oracle ERP Cloud instance.
    2. In the top-right corner, click the profile image, then select Setup and Maintenance.
    3. In the top-right corner, click the dropdown next to Setup: Compensation Management, then select Procurement.
    4. Under Functional Areas, click Purchasing Foundation.
    5. Under Purchasing Foundation, select the task Manage Purchasing Descriptive Flexfields.
    6. Create a global segment. See Create Global Segments.

      On the Manage Descriptive Flexfields page, search for the flexfield with Flexfield Code PO_HEADERS.

    7. Under Create Segment, enter the Name of the flexfield as Shopify Order ID.
    8. Under Column Assignment, select the Data Type as Character.
    9. Under Validation, specify the value set. For example: 30 Characters.
    10. Under Display Properties,
      1. Select the display type as Text Box.

      2. Specify the Display Size and Display Height. For example, 10.

    11. To enable BI reporting, under Business Intelligence, check the BI Enabled checkbox.
  4. Deploy the descriptive flexfield. See Deploy Descriptive Flexfields.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to create descriptive flexfields that store Shopify Product ID and Shopify Product Variant ID.
    1. In step 3c, click the dropdown next to Setup: Product Management.
    2. In step 3d, under Functional Areas, click Items, then select Manage ItemDescriptive Flexfields.
