Add New Segments and Other Schema Constructs
According to your organization's requirements, you can add new constructs to a standard B2B schema to customize it.
- To add a new construct to a schema in a project.
- In the navigation pane, click Projects.
- Click the project in which to add a new construct to a schema.
- Click B2B
. - In the Schemas section, hover over the schema and click Actions
, then select Edit.
- To add a new construct to a schema in a standalone environment.
- In the navigation pane, click B2B, then Schemas.
- Hover over a schema and click Edit
.
- Hover over the row of a required hierarchy and click Actions
. - Select an option to add a new construct. The options displayed in the Actions
list vary according to the hierarchy of the rows. -
Segment
You can add the following from the Actions
list of a segment.
Option Description New segment Creates a segment on the same level. New loop Creates a loop on the same level. New child element Creates a child element inside the segment. Note:
In the Add new element dialog that opens, you can either create a new element from scratch or create a new element based on an existing element.New composite element Creates a composite element inside the segment. -
Loop
You can add the following from the Actions
list of a loop.
Option Description New loop Creates a loop on the same level. New segment Creates a segment on the same level. New child segment Creates a child segment inside the loop. -
Child element
You can create the following from the Actions
list of a child element.
Option Description New composite Creates a composite element at the same level as the child element. New element Creates an element at the same level as the child element. -
Composite element (inside a segment)
You can create the following from the Actions
list of a composite element inside a segment.
Option Description New composite Creates a composite element at the same level as the composite element of the segment. New element Creates a element at the same level as the composite element. New child element Creates a child element inside the composite element. -
Composite element (inside a loop)
You can create the following from the Actions
list of a composite element inside a loop.
Option Description New loop Creates a loop at the same level as the composite element. New segment Creates a segment at the same level as the composite element. New child element Creates a child element inside the composite element. New child composite Creates a child composite element inside the composite element.

- Cut and paste constructs (segment, loop, child element, composite element).
- Hover over the row and click Actions
. - From the Actions list, select Cut. The row shows a Cut icon.You can cut only one row at a time. If you try to cut another row, an error appears. To continue, do one of the following:
- Click Refresh at the top of the schema table.
- Hover over the row with the Cut icon, click Actions
and select Cancel cut and rollback.
- To paste, click Actions
on the destination row and choose one of the following.- Paste at same level
- Paste as a child
If paste isn’t allowed at the chosen level (for example, a segment cannot be pasted as a child segment), an error with details is shown.
Note:
You can paste the same cut item multiple times.
- Hover over the row and click Actions
- Copy and paste loops.
- Hover over the loop row and click Actions
. - From the Actions list, select Copy.
- Paste the loop at the same level or as a child of the loop. Alternatively, paste it as a child of another row (segment, child element, composite element).
- Hover over the loop row and click Actions
