Shapes

Oracle Integration is available in two shapes:

  • Development: Use this shape only for building and testing. Development instances get updated first, so you can try new features early and catch any issues before they reach production.
  • Production: Use this shape for your production workload. Support for production instances is prioritized. Updates roll out approximately three weeks after development instances, so you have time for testing on development.

Note:

  • The production shape is available in all regions. The development shape is available in select regions. See Development Shape Availability.
  • Customer-managed disaster recovery is available in both shapes. Oracle-managed disaster recovery is available only in production shape.
  • You can't split a single instance into two shapes. Instead, you must create separate instances for each shape.
  • You can't change the shape after you create the instance. However, you can move data to another instance using the export and import features. See Clone the Design-Time Metadata of an Entire Service Instance in Using Integrations in Oracle Integration 3.
