Download Root CA Wallet for TLS Authentication

For connections with JDBC Thin Driver using JDK8u162 or higher, including connections with Oracle SQL Developer and Oracle SQLcl, a wallet is not required. In other cases, to connect with TLS authentication clients must provide a CA certificate in a wallet. For connections that require a wallet with TLS authentication, perform these steps to download a wallet that contains the root CA certificate.

Note:

See Update your Autonomous Database Instance to Allow both TLS and mTLS Authentication for information on allowing TLS connections.

To download a generic wallet for TLS authentication:

  1. Download the root CA wallet file available here.
  2. Save the wallet to a local file.

After you complete these steps, the directory where you saved the wallet contains the wallet file cwallet.sso. Use this root CA wallet for TLS connection types that require a wallet.
