Terminate an Autonomous Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure

Shows you the steps to terminate an Autonomous Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Details page of the Autonomous Database you want to terminate.

    Tip:

For databases that use Autonomous Data Guard, go to the Details page of the primary database.

    Note:

In an Autonomous Data Guard setup, you can not terminate an Autonomous Database in an Autonomous Container Database (ACD) whose standby ACD is in a snapshot standby role.

For instructions, see View Details of a Dedicated Autonomous Database.

  2. On Oracle Public Cloud, click Terminate under More Actions. On Exadata Cloud@Customer, click Delete under Actions.
  3. On the Terminate Autonomous Database page enter the database name to confirm that you want to terminate the database.
  4. On Oracle Public Cloud and Exadata Cloud@Customer deployments, optionally, select Delete all long-term backups that are not retention locked to remove all long-term backups of the Autonomous Database if they are not retention locked.
  5. Click Terminate in Oracle Public Cloud and Terminate Autonomous Database in Exadata Cloud@Customer.
  6. On Oracle Public Cloud and Exadata Cloud@Customer deployments, after the Autonomous Database is terminated, you are given an option to undelete the database if the Autonomous Database is created with an ECPU compute model.

Undelete an Autonomous Database

APPLIES TO: ApplicableOracle Public Cloud APPLIES TO: Applicable Exadata Cloud@Customer

You can only undelete an Autonomous Database created with an ECPU compute model.
  • You can undelete an Autonomous Database within 72 hours of its termination, provided the corresponding ACD is not terminated.
  • Undeleting a database will bring the database back to the latest available timestamp.
  • Click undelete database, and when prompted, confirm to undelete the database.

Note:

After you undelete an Autonomous Database, the backups created before you undeleted the database cannot be used for a database restore and can only be used for cloning the database. If you had chosen to remove all long-term backups while deleting the Autonomous Database (by selecting Delete all long-term backups that are not retention locked), then those long-term backups will not be restored.
