Data verification

Use data verification to compare data in the source and target databases for a migration. Now you have an option to do a post migration validation. You can validate tables, schemas, and objects for Oracle migrations. The counts are derived from the database statistics. For accurate results, ensure that the statistics are current.

You can enable the data verification by using the Assessments or by directly creating the migration.

Note: This feature does not account for objects explicitly included in or excluded from the migration.

Note: The validation information is displayed only after the import phase.

The Data verification tab is available in the Migration page.

The following attributes are a part of the data verification feature:

• Status: Shows the result of the data fetch.
• Started: Time when the last data verification ran.
• Updated: Time when the last data verification completed.

Select Run verification to load the data.

In the Count compare by object type section, the following options are available:

• Owner
• Object type
• Source object count- Source object type count for a specific owner
• Target object count- Target object type count for a specific owner
• Delta (in %)- Difference between source and target object count expressed in percentage.
• Invalid source count- Invalid object count in source database
• Invalid target count- Invalid object count in target database

In the Object status section, the following options are available:

• Owner- Object owner
• Object type
• Name- Object name
• Source status- Status of object in the source database, Valid or invalid
• Target status- Status of object in the target database, Valid or invalid
• Match-Compares the object status between the source and the target databases, possible values are: Yes or No.

In the Table row count comparison section, the following options are available:

• Owner- Table owner
• Table- Table name
• Source last statistics collection- Last time when statistics ran in the source database
• Target last statistics collection- Last time when statistics ran in the target database
• Source rows- Number of rows in the source database for a specific table.
• Target rows- Number of rows in the target database for a specific table.
• Delta- Difference between Source rows and Target rows expressed in percentage.
