Bomgar

Before You Begin

Introduction

This document describes how to configure Oracle Identity Cloud Service to provide Single Sign-On (SSO) for Bomgar using SAML.

About Bomgar

Bomgar is a distant support solution that allows protected access to remote computers and devices over the web.

After integrating Bomgar with Oracle Identity Cloud Service:

  • Users can access Bomgar using their Oracle Identity Cloud Service login credentials.
  • Users can start Bomgar using the Oracle Identity Cloud Service My Apps console.
  • Admins can assign and revoke user access to the Bomgar app using the Oracle Identity Cloud Service administration console.

What Do You Need?

  • An Oracle Identity Cloud Service account with authorization rights to manage applications and users (Identity Domain Administrator or Application Administrator).
  • A Bomgar account with authorization rights to configure federated authentication.

Configuring the Bomgar App in Oracle Identity Cloud Service

Use this section to register and activate the Bomgar app, and then assign users to the app.

Prerequisite Step

A domain name is required before you can register and activate the Bomgar app. You obtain that domain name from Bomgar.

The Bomgar domain name appears in the Bomgar home URL: https://<Domain_Name>.bomgar.com/login.

Registering and Activating the Bomgar App

  1. Access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service administration console, select Applications, and then click Add.

  2. Click App Catalog.

Note: This is the Domain Name that you obtained while performing the steps in the "Prerequisite Steps" section.

  5. Click Attribute Configuration.

  6. In the Group Attributes section, use the table to update group-specific attributes.

This table lists the mandatory federated authentication attributes that you must set to complete the SSO configuration.

    Format Select Basic.
Condition Select Equals or Starts with or All Groups to filter the group types.
Value Enter your Bomgar group name.

Note: You must be a member of a group of Oracle Identity Cloud Services to register the Bomgar app.

  7. Click Download Identity Provider Metadata.

Tip: Use this file later during the Bomgar configuration in the "Configuring SSO for Bomgar" section.

  8. Click Finish. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message.

  9. Click Activate, and then click Activate Application. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message.

Assigning Users to the Bomgar App

  1. On the Bomgar app page in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, select Users, and then click Assign. The Assign Users window appears.

Note: The Bomgar app can be accessed by a user who is assigned to the Bomgar app in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, even if the user does not have an Bomgar account.

Configuring SSO for Bomgar

Send an email to Bomgar with downloaded Oracle Identity Provider metadata file and request to enable SAML 2.0 for your Bomgar account.

Verifying the Integration

Use this section to verify that SSO works when initiated from Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IdP Initiated SSO) or from Bomgar (SP Initiated SSO).

Verifying Identity Provider Initiated SSO from Oracle Identity Cloud Service

  1. Access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service My Profile console using the URL: https://<IDCS-Service-Instance>.identity.oraclecloud.com/ui/v1/myconsole.

  2. Log in using credentials for a user that is assigned to the Bomgar app. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a shortcut to Bomgar under My Apps.

  3. Click Bomgar. The Bomgar home page appears.

  4. In the upper-right corner, click the user drop-down list, and then confirm that the user that is logged in is the same for both Bomgar and Oracle Identity Cloud Service.

This confirms that SSO that is initiated from Oracle Identity Cloud Service works.

Verifying Service Provider Initiated SSO from Bomgar

  1. Access Bomgar using the URL: https://<Domain_Name>.bomgar.com/login, and then click Use SAML Authentication.

You are redirected to the Oracle Identity Cloud Service login page.

  1. Log in using credentials for a user that is assigned to Bomgar app. The Bomgar home page appears.
