Before You Begin
Introduction
This document describes how to configure Oracle Identity Cloud Service to provide Single Sign-On (SSO) for Quandora using SAML.
About Quandora
Quandora provides new generation knowledge sharing solutions for technical teams and business teams, as well as open communities and discussion forums.
After integrating Quandora with Oracle Identity Cloud Service:
- Users can access Quandora using their Oracle Identity Cloud Service login credentials.
- Users can start Quandora using the Oracle Identity Cloud Service My Apps console.
- Admins can assign and revoke user access to the Quandora app using the Oracle Identity Cloud Service administration console.
What Do You Need?
- An Oracle Identity Cloud Service account with authorization rights to manage apps and users (Identity Domain Administrator or Application Administrator).
- A Quandora account with a verified domain to include when you register the Quandora app in Oracle Identity Cloud Service.
- Make sure that the email ID of each user in Quandora matches the primary email ID of the Oracle Identity Cloud Service account.
Configuring the Quandora App in Oracle Identity Cloud Service
Use this section to register and activate the Quandora app, and then assign users to the app.
Prerequisite Steps
A Relay State value is required before you can register and activate the Quandora app. You obtain that value from Quandora.
Access Quandora as an administrator using the URL:
https://<Company_Name>.quandora.com/login
that you received in an email from Quandora. The Quandora home page appears.Tip: This is the company name value that you entered while registering the Quandora account.
In the upper-right corner, click the user name drop-down list, and then select Manage Domain. The Site Settings page appears.
In the left navigation menu, click SAML2 Login. The SAML2 Login page appears.
Make note of the relay state value that is appended to the statement "If your IDP supports a default relay state for IDP initiated login, you can use this one:" before the Enable Single-Sign-On option.
Note: Use this relay state value later while registering and activating the Quandora App in Oracle Identity Cloud Service. See the "Registering and Activating the Quandora App" section.
Registering and Activating the Quandora App
Access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service administration console, select Applications, and then click Add.
Click App Catalog.
Search for
Quandora
, and then click Add.In the App Details section, enter your Quandora Relay State value, and then click Next.
Note: This is the relay state value that you obtained while performing the steps in the "Prerequisite Steps" section.
Click Download Identity Provider Metadata. To learn about other methods you can use to access SAML metadata, see Access SAML Metadata.
Open the Metadata file, locate the
</md:IDPSSODescriptor>
tag, insert the following before the tag:<md:NameIDFormat>urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress</md:NameIDFormat>
, and then save the file.Tip: Use this file later during the Quandora configuration in the "Configuring SSO for Quandora" section.
Click Finish. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message.
Click Activate, and then click Activate Application. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message.
Assigning Users to the Quandora App
On the Quandora app page in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, select Users, and then click Assign. The Assign Users window appears.
Select users that you want to assign to Quandora, and then click OK. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message stating that the Quandora app is assigned to the users that you selected.
Configuring SSO for Quandora
Access Quandora as an administrator using the URL:
https://<Company_Name>.quandora.com/login
. The Quandora home page appears.In the upper-right corner, click the user name drop-down list, and then select Manage Domain. The Site Settings page appears.
In the left navigation menu, click SAML2 Login. The SAML2 Login page appears.
Use the following table to update the federated authentication attributes, and then click SAVE CHANGES.
This table lists the mandatory federated authentication attributes that you must set to complete the SSO configuration. Attribute Value Identity Provider Metadata Select the Copy / Paste IdP metadata option and paste the metadata in the Metadata XML text box. Tip: This is the metadata that you downloaded earlier during Quandora registration in Oracle Identity Cloud Service. See the "Registering and Activating the Quandora App" section. First name Enter GivenName
.Last name Enter surname
.Locate Enable Single-Sign-On, and enable the option.
Verifying the Integration
Use this section to verify that SSO works when initiated from Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IdP initiated SSO).
Verifying Identity Provider Initiated SSO from Oracle Identity Cloud Service
Access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service My Profile console using the URL:
https://<IDCS-Service-Instance>.identity.oraclecloud.com/ui/v1/myconsole
.Log in using credentials for a user that is assigned to the Quandora app. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a shortcut to Quandora under My Apps.
Click Quandora. A confirmation message appears.
In the upper-right corner of the header, confirm that the user that is logged in is the same for both Quandora and Oracle Identity Cloud Service.
This confirms that SSO that is initiated from Oracle Identity Cloud Service works.
Troubleshooting
Use this section to locate solutions to common integration issues.
Known Issues
Quandora displays the message, "Sign-up Failed"
Cause: The email attribute sent by Oracle Identity Cloud Service during SSO doesn't match any existing user in Quandora.
Solution: Ensure that the user that you assign to the Quandora app has an account in both Oracle Identity Cloud Service and Quandora with the same email address.
Unknown Issues
For unknown issues, contact Oracle Support:
Go to https://support.oracle.com.
Select Cloud Support, and then sign in with your support credentials.
In the Cloud Dashboard, confirm that there are no planned outages in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, and then click Create Service Request.
Select Oracle Identity Cloud Service as the service type.
Complete your service request.
