Description of Directory Synchronization Between Provisioning Bridges and Oracle Identity Cloud Service

In this diagram, Provisioning Bridges are used to pull users and groups from Oracle Internet Directory domains into Oracle Identity Cloud Service. Oracle Internet Directory is an on-premises app that’s the authoritative source for the users and groups. The Provisioning Bridges poll the Oracle Internet Directory domains for changes to the users and groups, and synchronize these changes with Oracle Identity Cloud Service.

The first Provisioning Bridge synchronizes Oracle Identity Cloud Service with the dc=us,dc=oracle,dc=com domain of Oracle Internet Directory. The People and Finance groups, along with the users who belong to these groups, such as John Doe and Mary Smith, are synchronized into Oracle Identity Cloud Service. These users retain their group memberships in Oracle Identity Cloud Service.

The second Provisioning Bridge synchronizes Oracle Identity Cloud Service with the dc=uk,dc=oracle,dc=com domain of Oracle Internet Directory. The HR group and the users who belong to this group, including Chuck Wilcox, as well as users who don't belong to groups, such as Clarence Saladna, are synchronized into Oracle Identity Cloud Service. Any users who belong to groups will retain their group memberships in Oracle Identity Cloud Service.
