Description of the illustration API-lifecycle.png

This diagram shows the typical lifecycle of a custom API. The API is created and then the endpoints are tested. Any necessary editing is done at this time to complete the configuration. An API implementation is created and associated with the custom API. The API and its implementation are tested to fine tune the configuration and implementation. When both are considered complete, the API and its implementation are published. After being published, the API and its implementation can then be deployed to another environment.
