Description of the illustration spec_test.png

The image displays the API Test page. The top of the page shows the icon associated with the API, the API name, and its version number. Immediately below the API name is the short description for the API and below that is the base URI.

Below the URI, the page is split vertically. One side shows the list of endpoints described previously. The other side is the work area of the Test page.

The top of the work area shows the Default API Designer Test Credentials button, which opens the Default API Designer Test Credentials dialog. Below the button is a banner that displays the name of the selected endpoint. The local URL is displayed below the endpoint.

Below the banner is the method description and below that are the Request and Response tabs. The Request tab is open showing the expanded Parameters and Authentication fields. The Parameters section consists of three columns. The first column is Body and shows the request body called body. The second column is Description containing the value called string. The last column is the Test column, which contains the Use Example button.

Below the value, string, are the Example and Schema tabs. The Example tab is open and an example with mock data is displayed. Next to the mock data is a text field where you can enter an alternate example to test with. Click Use Example after entering the alternate example to affect the change.

Below the Parameters section is the Authentication section. It displays the name of the Mobile Backend selection field, and below it, the version selection field. Below the Version field is the Authentication Method selection field. Depending the authentication type enabled for the selected mobile backend and the authentication method selected, either User Name and Password text fields will be displayed or a token access text field will be displayed. In this image, no mobile backend, version, or authentication method has been selected yet so no credentials fields are displayed.

Below the Authentication section is the Test Endpoint button.

The functions of these fields and the Default API Designer Test Credentials dialog are described in the surrounding text.
