1 What's New in Release 3.2.0
Here’s an overview of new features and enhancements added to Oracle Visual Builder Add-in for Excel in Release 3.2.0. Take note also of some limitations when using the add-in.
New and Changed Features
- Support for custom actions on an entire business object rather than just on individual items in a business object. For example, such a custom action may find all overdue expense reports in an ExpenseReports business object and send an email to the assigned approver. See Custom Actions.
- A new custom action wizard for business object level custom actions and item-level custom actions on the form of a Form-over-Table layout. When you click Perform Action from the Oracle Visual Builder ribbon, the add-in launches a wizard that prompts you to select the custom action and provide any required values. See Perform Custom Actions in Table and Form-over-Table Layouts in Managing Data Using Oracle Visual Builder Add-in for Excel.
- Support for creating layouts for top-level polymorphic business objects as well as child business objects with a one-to-many relationship with its parent. See Use a Polymorphic Business Object in a Layout.
- A new control (Display Type list) in the List of Values tab that lets you choose which display fields appear in the Excel cell when a value is selected. See Configure a List of Values.
- Support for creating a set of dependent layouts for an Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) service. See Requirements for Dependent Layouts.
- Support for defining a separate search parameter query for each layout in a set of a dependent layouts. For example, you can specify a search parameter on a grandchild layout that returns only certain rows when you select this layout and click Download Data.
- Enhancements to add-in search functionality:
- A new Required for search check box in the Business Object Field Editor. If a field with this check box selected is used in a search, a business user is required to provide a value for this field before the download can proceed.
- A new simplified search prompt for business users when downloading data. When configured, the business user can only provide values for the search conditions and not add or delete search fields or change search filters.
- An enhancement that allows the add-in to redraw layouts automatically after configuration changes.
- The minimum required version of the Microsoft .NET Framework is now 4.8.
