Polymorphic Segments Limitations

• Change tracking in the Business Object Field Editor is only available for global or context-sensitive segments. The behavior of other types of fields in the field editor and during metadata refresh from the service is unchanged.
• Polymorphic segments can not be created from scratch or deleted. Only the properties for existing segments can be edited.
• Properties related to Lists of Values (LOVs) are not available or editable for global and context-sensitive polymorphic segments.
• Properties related to object subfields are not available or editable for global and context-sensitive polymorphic segments.
• Edits to polymorphic segments are only preserved during polymorphic refresh if a segment with the same ID exists in the updated metadata from the service. Polymorphic segments not found in the updated service metadata are discarded.
• The ID property is never editable for polymorphic segments. This value must be consistent to find matching segments in updated service metadata during polymorphic metadata refresh.
