Introduction
For WebCenter on Marketplace, logs are integrated with OCI Logging as custom logs. To view the logs, navigate to Observability & Management and then to Logging in the OCI console. The log name for the WebCenter stack is <service-name>-log.
List of product types with OCI Logging:
WCC - WebCenter Content
WCP - WebCenter Portal
WFR - WebCenter Forms Recognition
WCS - WebCenter Sites
Configuration of Logs
The user can specify the WebCenter logs that the logging agent needs to collect and send to OCI Logging in the log input in <service-name>-agent-config under Agent Configurations. By default, the following WebCenter server logs are collected and pushed to Logging. To turn off integration, configure the log inputs in the agent configuration to remove all the file paths.
- All logs: /u01/data/domains/logs
- Domain logs: /u01/data/domains/<product-type>_domain/servers/<server-name>/logs
- Diagnostic logs: /u01/data/domains/<product-type>_domain/servers/<server-name>/logs
- Access logs: /u01/data/domains/<product-type>_domain/servers/<server-name>/logs
Log Search
Navigate to Search to create custom filters or advanced search queries to filter and view logs. See Documentation about OCI Logging.
For example, to view the logs for a specific server, users can create a custom filter on the log subject with the log file path. In the Log Search, users pass in the field “subject = /u01/data/domains/wcc_domain/servers/AdminServer*” to get all the logs from the Admin Server.
Note: The retention duration for WebCenter logs by default is 30 days. To edit the retention duration for the logs, edit the log under Logs, <service-name>-<product-type>-log and in the additional settings, you can specify the retention duration up to 180 days.
For more information about Log Search, see OCI documentation.
