Create Datasets from Databases

After you create database connections, you can use those connections to create datasets.

Note:

The maximum number of tables displayed is 10,000. If your connection provides access to additional tables and the tables you want aren't displayed, enter the SQL statement for the dataset manually by selecting the Enter SQL option.
  1. On the Home page, click Create, and then click Dataset.
  2. In Create Dataset, click the database connection containing the data to use.
  3. In Add Dataset, click the schema containing the table with your data. Click the table to use for the dataset.
  4. In the column list, browse or search for the columns you want to include in the dataset. You can click Add All, or select a column or columns and then click Add Selected.
  5. Optional: Use the Data Access option to specify how to refresh the dataset.
    Alternatively, you can select the Enter SQL option to view or modify the data source’s SQL statement or to write a SQL statement.
  6. Click Add.
