Add Reference Lines to Visualizations

Reference lines enable you to identify averages, medians, percentiles, and similar information in a visualization.

  1. On the Home page, select a workbook, click the Actions menu, and then select Open.
  2. In the Data Panel, click the Analytics icon Use the Analytics icon to add advanced analytics functions.
  3. Drag and drop Reference Line into a visualization. Alternatively, you can double-click Reference Line to add it to the selected visualization.
  4. Use the Analytics pane on the Grammar panel to configure the line.
    For example, you might use the Method option to display a line or a band, or use the Function option to change the default line to Average, Percentile, or Top N.
  5. Click Save.
