Decide on the Implementation Approach

As you plan your implementation of Fusion Data Intelligence, you must decide on the implementation approach.

Consider these approaches:
  • Phased approach
  • Rollout of the prebuilt content in the phased approach
  • Full-fledged approach

Phased Approach

The phased approach rolls out the implementation sequentially, gradually introducing the new system, allowing you to achieve the same results at a slower, more deliberate pace.

Rather than having one go-live for the entire system, a phased implementation approach has several smaller go-live events in each project phase. Because users must perform different functions during a phased implementation, preparation typically includes training on the various standard operating procedures used in each phase. This way, you can choose to set milestones based on your circumstances. Start small and review the prebuilt content (Phase A) for the first rollout.

The phased approach can be broadly classified into these phases:

Rollout of the Prebuilt Content

Phase A, the first phase, in the phased implementation approach is rolling out the prebuilt content. This enables business users to experience Fusion Data Intelligence much faster. They can familiarize themselves with the ready-to-use content prior to reviewing other use cases.

Whether planning a phased approach or a full-fledged approach, you must complete Steps 1 and 2.

Full-Fledged Approach

The full-fledged approach rolls out implementation as one extensive project.

This approach enables a quicker and lower-cost process but comes with risks such as issues caused between interdependent customization-related or security-related tasks. Full-fledged implementations work best for organizations with one application and just a few functional areas and customizations. If you plan to follow this approach, then:
  • Evaluate if a full-fledged rollout approach is a proper strategy for your implementation.
  • Identify all implementation dependencies.
  • Consider availability of business users and key project stake holders.
