About Application Roles

Application roles consist of duty and data roles.

Duty roles define the responsibilities of a job as an entitlement to perform a particular action, for example, a duty role that requires access to an AP transaction subject area. Data roles provide access to the row-level data in the autonomous data warehouse tables. Data roles categorize users based on the functional requirements of their job role and data needs. For example, you could organize users into a research and development data role to enable the users to track invoices related to their projects.
