Export the Semantic Model Template

The semantic model template is upgraded with each application release. It's recommended to download the latest version of the uploaded semantic model template for any changes.

The semantic model template includes all dimensions available in the semantic model, and each dimension can be extended to address specific business requirements. Facts are included to support the extension of degenerate dimensions. However, apart from these supported extensions, the attributes of prebuilt facts are immutable and can't be altered or modified. To join a custom dimension to a prebuilt fact, import the custom dimension into the semantic model template and associate it with a custom or placeholder fact. Don't create a direct join to the prebuilt fact within the template. After the external application has been merged, the custom dimension is available within the Sandbox framework, where it can be joined to the prebuilt fact.

You can download the semantic model template using either the Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence Console or the Oracle BI Administration Tool.

1. If you're using the Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence Console:
   1. Sign in to your service.
   2. Click Semantic Model Extensions under Application Administration.
   3. On the Semantic Model Extensions page, in the External Application region, click Actions, and then click Export Semantic Model Template to download the semantic model template.
2. If you're using the Oracle BI Administration Tool, navigate to Actions and then click Export Semantic Model Template to download the semantic model template.
3. To obtain the default password for the Semantic Model Template, contact Oracle Support.
