Supported Snapshot Granularity

The PROJ_COMMITMENT_GRAIN parameter supports the following values:

• WEEK

• MONTH

• QUARTER

• YEAR

The selected value determines the level of historical snapshots retained in the snapshot fact table.

For example, when:

PROJ_COMMITMENT_GRAIN = WEEK

The snapshot table stores one snapshot per calendar week. If the ETL process runs multiple times during the same week, each execution updates the existing weekly snapshot. At the end of the week, the final snapshot is retained. A new snapshot record is created during the first ETL run of the following week.

Similarly, when the parameter is configured for MONTH, QUARTER, or YEAR, only one snapshot is retained for each corresponding time period.
