Add Extensible Attributes to Search Indexes

Do these steps to add attributes to a search index:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Search Indexes task.
  2. On the Manage Search Index page, search for the index to which you want to add attributes.
  3. Click the Configure icon corresponding to the required index.
  4. On the Edit Index Attributes page, select attributes to add to the index object and click Save and Close. You can only select index attributes that aren't predefined.
  5. On the Manage Search Index page, click Publish to save the changes permanently to the index metadata.
Note: The Publish button is enabled for a search index only when you've added or removed any attributes. Your changes will not be saved to the index metadata permanently until you click Publish.
