Considerations for Disabling Saved and Recent Searches for Global Search

You can use global search configurations to determine if saved searches and recent searches are enabled in the global search.

Saved Searches

When you disable saved searches, here are a few things to keep in mind:

• The Save button in the search results dialog box also gets disabled. So, your users can't create or edit saved searches for global search.

• The Saved Searches suggestion group doesn't get disabled. So, your users can still see any applicable saved searches in the global search autosuggest.

Recent Searches

When you disable recent searches, here are a few things to keep in mind:

• The application doesn't save recent searches.

• The Recent Searches suggestion group doesn't get disabled. So, your users can still see in their autosuggest any applicable searches that they recently ran before you disabled recent searches.
