Make the Days Parameter Available for Archiving Transactions

Create and set a profile option to make the Days parameter available for the Archive Transaction Console Completed Transactions scheduled process. The process includes only transactions that have the Completed status for at least the specified number of days.

For example, if the user enters 30 for the parameter, the scheduled process includes transactions that have the Completed status for 30 days or longer. If the Days parameter isn’t available, the process would use the settings on the Account Rules tab of the Transaction Console work area. There, for all transactions of specific business processes, the default duration is three months. If you have access to that tab, you can change the setting for individual business processes to another duration, or to not archive at all. The Days parameters let the user decide if they want to override or use those settings when they submit the scheduled process.

If your users have access to the Approval Rules tab, most likely you don’t need to make the Days parameter available. But, say that your company has a need to archive immediately at any given time, for one or more business processes. In that case, you need the Days parameter, because the shortest duration for the setting on the Approval Rules tab is three months.
