Set Value Formats for Regional Preferences for All Users

Use profile options to set the default formats of values for regional preferences, such as date, time, number, currency, and time zone for all users.

You can set the values of specific profile options at the site layer using the Manage Administrator Profile Values page. The formats you set here are displayed for all users in the fields for regional settings on the General Preferences: Regional page. Your users can still set the value formats for themselves using the settings in the General Preferences: Regional page. Once you set the value formats for all users, if specific users don't change their value formats, the choices you have set for all users will apply to them.

To set value formats for profile options, do these steps:

Click Navigator > My Enterprise > Setup and Maintenance.
In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Administrator Profile Values task in the Application Extensions functional area.
Set the value formats for the profile options, as required:

Note: Check if the profile option already has a value set for the Site profile level. If so, just edit that value. Otherwise, create a new row and select a value for the Site profile level so that your settings apply to all users.
- To set the date format:
  1. Search for the Default Date Format (FND_DATE_FORMAT) profile option.
  2. In the FND_DATE_FORMAT: Profile Values section, click the New icon.
  3. From the Profile Level list, select Site.
  4. From the Profile Value list, select the required date format. For example, 31-1-1999.
- To set the time format:
  1. Search for the Default Time Format (FND_TIME_FORMAT) profile option.
  2. In the FND_TIME_FORMAT: Profile Values section, click the New icon.
  3. From the Profile Level list, select Site.
  4. From the Profile Value list, select the required time format. For example, 1:30 PM.
- To set the number format:
  1. Search for the Default Number Format (FND_NUMBER_FORMAT) profile option.
  2. In the FND_NUMBER_FORMAT: Profile Values section, click the New icon.
  3. From the Profile Level list, select Site.
  4. From the Profile Value list, select the required time format. For example, -1,234.567.
- To set the default currency:
  1. Search for the Default Currency (FND_CURRENCY) profile option.
  2. In the FND_CURRENCY: Profile Values section, click the New icon.
  3. From the Profile Level list, select Site.
  4. From the Profile Value list, select the required currency. For example, US Dollar.
- To set the default time zone:
  1. Search for the Default User Time Zone (FND_TIMEZONE) profile option.
  2. In the FND_TIMEZONE: Profile Values section, click the New icon.
  3. From the Profile Level list, select Site.
  4. From the Profile Value list, select the required time zone. For example, US Pacific Time.
Click Save and Close.
