Types of Tasks

There are several types of tasks that appear in your inbox:

  • Content review tasks are created automatically when articles reach their review dates. Knowledge managers can set an optional number of days between publishing and review for all articles in a content type, and authors can override that number by setting a review period for individual articles. For example, if the FAQ content type has a review period of 180 days, an article published on July 1 would have a review date of December 27. If the author sets the review period for 90 days, an article published on July 1 would have a review date of September 29.

  • Workflow tasks are created automatically as articles move through customer-defined workflow prior to publication.

  • Translation tasks are created when either an author or knowledge manager marks an article for translation. There is a separate task for each target locale.

  • Recommendation tasks are created when someone requests a new article or an update to an existing article.
