3 Configure Experiments

In order for you to run experiments, you must preform a number of essential configurations once the experiment has been created.

The following summary describes the configuration steps you must complete once an experiment has been created:

  1. Designate a control page: Select a layout or webpage to serve as a control for the experiment.
  2. Create the variant content: Alter elements of the control page and save these changes to create a variant for the experiment. You can save up to five variants for each experiment. See Configure the variant content for more information.
  3. Define the target participants: Decide what percentage of the experiment participants are shown the control content and the variant content, and whether to include visitors in the experiment based either on what layout is currently applied or on information held in their URL. See Configure the target for more information.
  4. Configure the goals: Define the events that are tracked by the experiment. For example, you may wish to track how many people click on a particular button or link, or how many navigate to a particular page after viewing the content displayed by the experiment. See Configure the goals for more information.
  5. Create the schedule: Provide instructions for when the experiment should start and end. See Configure the schedule for more information.
  6. View the results: Review the results of an experiment as it is in progress or when it has completed. See View the Results of an Experiment for more information.
